The investigative team of the Prosecutor General's Office is continuing its preliminary investigations on the mass unrest that occurred in the Republic of Karakalpakstan.

As we have previously reported, the task of the investigative operational team is to establish all the circumstances of the events, to conduct investigative activities objectively and in strict accordance with the law.

As of July 16 of this year, as part of the investigative-operational group's investigative activities: - the investigation has been carried out with the involvement of experts and specialists:

- Measures are being taken to identify victims of the riots.

In particular, 141 law enforcement officials who suffered bodily injuries in the performance of their duties and 16 citizens who suffered harm to their health and property have been identified as victims;

Within the framework of measures taken to expose perpetrators of crimes, persons involved as suspects are detained in accordance with the established procedure.

All detainees are fully afforded the right to defence through the provision of a lawyer, and their relatives are informed of their detention, arrest and whereabouts.
