Prospects for a new stage of international military cooperation
On June 25, 2026, a meeting was held at the National Guard of the Republic of Uzbekistan as part of a working visit to the Republic of Uzbekistan by a delegation led by Major General Michael J. Lee, Deputy Commander of the United States Central Command (ARCENT) Ground Forces.
The meeting was attended by Colonel S. Mamayusupov, Deputy Commander of the National Guard of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and heads of relevant structural units.
During the conversation, the parties discussed the current state of military cooperation between the National Guard of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the United States Central Command and its promising directions. In particular, views were exchanged on the draft cooperation plan and memorandum of understanding for 2026–2027, and priority tasks were identified for further development of bilateral relations.
Issues of expanding the participation of National Guard servicemen within the framework of the International Military Education and Training Program (IMET) and implementing educational projects aimed at improving their professional potential and skills were also discussed.
