PROSPECTS FOR INTERNATIONAL COOPERATION

In order to establish and develop bilateral cooperation with Italy, on February 25, 2021, at the International Cooperation Department of the National guard, a meeting was held with the security expert of the Italian Embassy in Uzbekistan, Lieutenant Colonel Federico Quatrini.

The event was attended by heads and representatives of structural units of the National guard of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

During the meeting, the Italian side made a presentation on the activities of the Italian Carabinieri Corps.

The history of the Carabinieri has a two-hundred-year history and dates back to the merger of military units during the unification of Italy in 1871. Currently, this Corps is one of the branches of the armed forces of Italy and carries out both the protection of law and order among the civilian population and the function of the military police.

Within the framework of the presentation, the functions and tasks of the divisions, areas of activity, the training system, as well as ongoing international cooperation are disclosed in detail.

They also discussed the prospects for the establishment and development of bilateral cooperation between the National guard of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Italian Carabinieri Corps.

Following the meeting, the parties agreed to develop the potential of bilateral cooperation, and also expressed their readiness for closer cooperation.
