The establishment of the 'Pekiti Tirsia Kali' Federation in Uzbekistan and a new stage of international cooperation

The formation of the "Pekiti Tirsia Kali" Federation under the sponsorship of the National Guard and its official registration by the Ministry of Justice marks a new stage in the development of martial arts and self-defense systems in Uzbekistan. This step not only provides a legal foundation for the improvement of the system but also opens up new opportunities for cooperation with other countries in the Central Asian region.

As a result of these efforts, since March 2023, systematic training sessions and exercises have been conducted at the “PTK Bantay” (Warrior) sports club school, which operates on the basis of the National Guard’s Specialized Training Center and is the only one of its kind in Central Asia. These sessions involve military personnel and officers from Uzbekistan’s security agencies.

As a logical continuation of the trust shown toward Uzbekistan in promoting this martial art, specialists from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Tajikistan were invited to the city of Bukhara for the first time, where another seminar-training was organized under the leadership of Rommel Tortal, President of the World Federation of Pekiti Tirsia Kali.

This seminar-training took place over the course of a month, from May 21 to June 9 of this year. At the conclusion of the training, a working meeting was held between the Commander of the National Guard, Major General R. Djurayev, and Rommel Tortal, President of the World Federation of Pekiti Tirsia Kali.

During the meeting, they discussed promising plans such as the establishment of the federation, the development of modern methods of martial arts, self-defense techniques for special units, the creation of specialized programs based on international standards, organizing various training and exchange events in cooperation with Central Asian countries, holding international competitions in this martial art, and improving the qualifications of specialists.

Additionally, it was noted that the seminar-training held in the ancient and vibrant city of Bukhara played an important role as a platform for experience exchange between Uzbek and foreign experts in the Pekiti Tirsia Kali martial art, and it created an opportunity to further strengthen cooperative ties.
