From the speech of the commander of the National Guard of the Republic of Uzbekistan in honor of the Day of Defenders of the Motherland to military personnel and employees, those killed in the line of duty and their family members, as well as to veterans of the system.

I sincerely congratulate the soldier and employees of the National Guard, professors and teachers of educational institutions, cadets and students, veterans, workers and their families on the 31st anniversary of the establishment of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Day of Defenders of the Motherland.

Indeed, only in a peaceful country will reforms, development and growth take place. Therefore, in the last seven years, extensive reforms have been implemented in the Armed Forces and law enforcement agencies, and a system capable of protecting the peace of our country and the peace of our people has been created.

Fundamental reforms were implemented in the National Guard system and in a short time it became an important link in the provision of public safety in our republic. For this, the National Guard units were provided with all the necessary modern weapons, equipment, special and personal protective equipment.

In 2022, a total of 216 international cooperation events were organized by foreign partners with 23 countries and 8 international organizations to learn the experiences of advanced foreign countries in the field of public safety.  8 practical trainings, 3 joint practical trainings, 61 trainings with representatives of law enforcement agencies of other foreign countries were held in our country with the participation of specialists of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Belarus, Turkish Gendarmerie and the Special Unit of the US Armed Forces, and the qualifications of 833 military personnel were improved.

According to the Decree No. 27 of the President of the Republic dated November 29, 2021, National Guard units are now independently responsible for maintaining public order in 163 markets, 48 avenues, 58 parks, as well as 245 public events in the cities of Tashkent and Nukus and regional centers. and positive results are being achieved.

Special recognition should be given to the services of the personnel of the National Guard in ensuring the high-level and safe holding of the of the 22nd meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and the Organization of Turkic States, which was held last year. On this basis, we established a department of the National Guard to ensure the safety of new tourism facilities in the Samarkand regional administration.

As a result of the effective work carried out with the partner ministries and agencies in the neighborhoods with criminogenic situations, which is one of our important tasks, 5401 families in need of social protection were provided assistance, 3768 unemployed people were provided with employment, 413 of them are unorganized youth.

In 2022 alone, 539 persons registered in special lists were deleted from special lists and helped to improve their life. In this, the role of the Security System personnel, which is the main link of the National Guard, is incomparable.
