PROSPECTS FOR INTERNATIONAL COOPERATION IN THE FIELD OF EDUCATION
On May 6, 2021 the Public Security University of the Republic
of Uzbekistan was held a meeting with the security expert of the Italian Embassy in Uzbekistan, Lieutenant-Colonel Federico Cuatrini in order
to establish and develop bilateral cooperation with Italy.
The head of the University, Colonel M. Rustambayev, informed the Italian side about the concept of transforming the Institute into a University, introduced with new directions and criteria for training, creating new departments, as well as further improving the material and technical base.
Also was expressed readiness to exchange experience with the Italian side in the field of training, retraining and advanced training of personnel
in the military and law enforcement spheres, to develop an appropriate Action Plan and conclude a Memorandum of Understanding with specialized educational institutions in Italy.
In turn, F.Cuatrini noted that it deserves special attention that the University implemented system of training the personnel not only for the National Guard, but also for other law enforcement agencies.
During the meeting, the Italian side made a presentation to the University cadets about the activities of the Italian Carabinieri Corps.
The history of the Carabinieri has a two-hundred-year history
and originates from the merger of military units during the unification of Italy in 1871. Currently, this Corps is one of the branches of the Armed Forces
of Italy and performs both the protection of law and order among the civilian population and the function of the military police.
Within the framework of the presentation, the functions and tasks
of the divisions, are as of activity, the system of personnel training, as well as international cooperation are described in detail.
Following the meeting, the parties agreed to develop the potential
of bilateral cooperation, and also expressed their readiness for closer cooperation.
