A MEETING WAS HELD WITH THE DELEGATION OF EXPERTS FROM THE EUROPEAN UNION PROGRAM IN CENTRAL ASIA "LEICA"
At the present stage of world development, in all states, a significant role is assigned to law enforcement agencies, which are the main support of governments in ensuring internal security, maintaining calm and stability in the country.
In order to exchange views on cooperation in the fight against terrorism, on 23 February this year, the International Cooperation Department of the National guard held a working meeting with representatives of the European Union program to assist Central Asian countries in strengthening the skills of law enforcement agencies in the LEICA region.
During the meeting, the head of this program and the head of the European delegation, Jérôme Ribo-Gaillard, stressed that as part of the implementation of the program, the European side intends to build a constructive dialogue with the law enforcement and security structures of the Central Asian states in increasing their potential in order to improve security both at the national and international level. regional level. At the same time, the interlocutor noted that it is envisaged to provide technical assistance based on an in-depth analysis of needs in the region, as well as conduct thematic trainings.
Also, the European side expressed interest in studying the best practices of the countries of Central Asia, in particular Uzbekistan, in various aspects of the fight against terrorism.
As a result of the meeting, which took place in an atmosphere of friendly dialogue, an agreement was reached on the establishment and further development of bilateral cooperation within the framework of this program in ensuring law and order in Central Asia.
